24 Days of Spice | Day 7 - Christmas Salt

Day 7 was….interesting, to say the least.

Can’t tell if I was already biased against this because Christmas salt is not a common mix. When you search recipes, it’s salt with baking spices. This actually sounds interesting.

Day 7, however, includes wasabi and sugar. Calling this a “savory mix” with a “slightly spicy touch” is a stretch.

Prior to tasting it, I decided to put this on veggie fajitas. It used up the last of my cilantro rice and I had a can of black-eyed peas I had a taste for.

Additionally, I was so fully into the fajitas and Tex-Mex theme that I added a locally made spicy verde sauce for an extra kick. Bad idea. The sweetness of the spice completely competed with the other flavors.

In hindsight, I would have put it on popcorn .
